A man was arrested on Tuesday February 7 near Caen, a few hours after the discovery of the body of a man in his fifties in Gonneville-sur-Mer, between Houlgate and Villers-sur-Mer (Calvados). The suspect was placed in police custody for a few hours, indicates the public prosecutor of Rouen, Frédéric Teillet, to France Blue Normandy. The man is suspected of being the cause of the victim’s death.
His custody was lifted because “the state of health of the alleged perpetrator was deemed incompatible with police custody”, says the prosecutor. The suspect was hospitalized in psychiatry at the Rouvray Hospital Center, near Rouen.
The perpetrator could be the victim’s son
According to the public prosecutor, the investigators must determine if it is indeed the son of the victim. Investigators are also considering the possibility that the body was transported from Seine-Maritime to Gonneville-sur-Mer.
An autopsy must be carried out on the body of the victim Thursday specifies the parquet floor. The Lisieux public prosecutor’s office has relinquished the case in favor of the Rouen public prosecutor’s office, the Caen public prosecutor’s office told France Bleu Normandie.
