Among the big surprises in the Death Stranding 2 reveal trailer was the appearance of a Sam Porter Bridges apparently aged compared to the first chapter of the series of Kojima Productions.

The state in which Sam appears initially suggests an important time leap, or the well-known effects of Chronopoggia which assumes a central role already within the first episode of Death Stranding. However, our protagonist it shows no other signs of aging out of her hair.

Fans are therefore speculating, trying to be able to make sense of Hideo Kojima’s trailer. One of the more interesting theories, which rules out Chrono Rain’s intervention, suggests that Sam’s hair isn’t gray because of how much time has passed, but instead due to his becoming anemic. Such a consequence can manifest itself in real life if too much blood has been drawn from someone in a short amount of time.

“In my study of the DS2 trailer, I realized that gray-haired Sam is the reddest of herrings. Frequent blood draws are linked to anemia. Anemia is linked to premature graying because oxygen is not supplied to the scalp. Sam has his excess blood drawn during the game and no doubt also after”.

Here the fan reminds us that Sam uses his fluids, including blood, to build grenades and tools to defend against BTs, and certainly continues to do so even after the conclusion of the main story arc. In theory, therefore, the theory could also turn out to be correct. What do you think about it?

Hideo Kojima stated that Fragile will take a central role in Death Stranding 2 and that we will see crazy things in this sequel.
