To this day, Meghan Markle claims she knew nothing about the royals prior to her relationship with Harry. A blog entry that has reappeared years later seems to refute this.

Montecito, California – From a life like that of Megan Markle (41) many young women can only dream of. In 2016, the American met Prince Harry (38), in 2018 the two said yes and in 2019 the love happiness was perfect with the birth of Archie (3). From actress to Duchess of Sussex, it sounds like a fairy tale on paper. One question has always been up for debate in recent years: How much did Meghan really know about her new family before Harry?

Did Meghan Markle really know nothing about Harry’s family?

Meghan Markle was able to make a name for herself through her various acting roles, especially in the series “Suits”, even before her relationship with Prince Harry. Still, her public profile has grown exponentially in recent years, even though she had to give up her career in front of the camera and her many side projects when she married the Windsor family. In exchange for a life as a royal, this was certainly not a very difficult decision – but she is said not to have been aware of exactly what she was getting into.

As Meghan Markle has repeatedly claimed in recent years, she didn’t know much about the British Royals and mostly learned about Harry from his family and their traditions. In which controversial interview with talk show icon Oprah Winfrey (69) in March 2021, Meghan again protested her ignorance and her allegedly “surreal” first experiences with the Windsors were also a topic in the Netflix documentary “Harry & Meghan”. That this doesn’t seem to be the whole truth should be proven once again by an old blog entry.

Meghan Markle’s blog “The Tig”

On her blog, The Tig, which was named after her favorite Tignanello wine and launched in 2014, Meghan Markle shared diverse posts on feminism and philanthropy, as well as recipes and interviews with other celebrities, including tennis legend Serena Williams. As Meghan’s good friend Silver Tree explained in the Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, the site has been described by her as “a best friend who tells you all the things you want to know at once.” In 2017, the site was finally closed.

‘Endless conversation’: Meghan Markle lashes out at Kate’s wedding in deleted message

In a 2014 post on her now-deleted website, The Tig, the Duchess of Sussex referred aloud Daily Mail Position on the dream of many girls to become a princess and did not say particularly nice words about her current sister-in-law Kate Middleton (40). “Grown women seem to have this childhood fantasy,” Meghan writes, “Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and the endless conversation about Princess Kate.”

She herself is not interested in a life as “Cinderella” and rather identifies with the cartoon character She-Ra, a warrior princess. Writing so openly about the British royal family, she was clearly more familiar with her family by marriage than she wanted the public to believe.

Meghan’s claim that she knew nothing about the royals has been refuted many times in recent years. An old family photo shows a young Meghan Markle in front of Buckingham Palace and in a video from spring 2016 she is said to be loud Vanity Fair choose between Harry and William – and choose Harry. However, he seems to believe his wife and in his memoirs “Spare” even describes a moment in which Meghan is said to have mistaken Prince Andrew (63) for the Queen’s assistant.

The almost ten-year-old blog post will certainly not do the damaged relationship between the Duchess of Sussex and the British royal family any favors. Anyway it has long been clear that Meghan’s time in the royal family is over. Her absence from the coronation of King Charles III. (74) on Saturday (May 6), after these latest headlines, Kate in particular should have little regret. Sources used: dailymail.co.uk, vanityfair.com
