Dengue cases fell for the third consecutive week in our country. According to the latest report from the Ministry of Health, 84,433 cases were registeredof which 78,725 acquired the infection in Argentina.

Circulation of the virus was identified in 16 jurisdictions from four regions: Center (Buenos Aires, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Entre Ríos and Santa Fe), NEA (Corrientes, Formosa and Chaco), NOA (Catamarca, Jujuy, La Rioja, Salta, Santiago del Estero and Tucumán) and Cuyo (San Luis and Mendoza).

On the other hand, 1,642 cases of chikungunya fever were registered, of which 1,001 acquired the infection in the country, while 347 are under investigation and 294 acquired the disease abroad. In this way, as with dengue, the downward trend in the number of cases is also consolidated.

The circulation of this virus was confirmed in different locations in Buenos Aires, the City of Buenos Aires, Chaco, Córdoba, Corrientes, Formosa, Santa Fe and Salta.

Symptoms of dengue and chikungunya fever

The Health portfolio indicated that people infected with dengue may have a fever possibly accompanied by pain behind the eyes, head, muscles and joints, as well as nausea and vomiting, intense fatigue, the appearance of spots on the skin and itching, and bleeding nose and gums.

Meanwhile, the symptoms of chikungunya fever usually begin 3 to 7 days after the mosquito bite, especially with the sudden onset of fever, often accompanied by joint pain.
