With six votes in favor and five against, the proposal that reforms article 6 of the Municipal Organic Law of Edomex, was endorsed this Thursday by the members of the Legislation and Municipal Administration Commission of the local Congress, thanks to the alliance of the representatives of Brunette and the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM).

More than 30,000 participants decided that the official name should be changed to Valle de Xico, while around 5,000 people thought that it did not matter to them. However, the initiative was frozen.
