Moisés Caicedo spoke for the first time about his missed winter move to Arsenal. Speaking to the Telegraph, the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder says: “I was really close to leaving. I have suffered greatly. In the beginning when I stayed, a lot of people made fun of me on Instagram. People treated me badly.” The Gunners had made an offer of around 80 million euros including bonus payments for the 21-year-old, but Brighton immediately rejected it.

So Caicedo continued with the Seagulls, who, according to their own statements, defeated the Ecuadorians “with open arms” received. In March, the contract was extended until 2027. “This team opened the door for me and offered me a new contract, which I signed.”, Caicedo justifies his signature.
