“We fought for a long time, I have to say, and really tried everything because Josephine is also involved. But it’s no longer possible,” Steff Jerkel announced in mid-November in an emotional conversation with Vox that he was falling out of love with Peggy. At the beginning of December, the Spreewald native shared touching lines on Instagram that almost sounded like Peggy Jerofke regretting the breakup. After more than two decades together and the great family happiness with daughter Josephine (4), Steff Jerkel and Peggy Jerofke will find it difficult to just draw a line like that. Just in time for the turn of the year, the small family spends a skiing holiday together in the snow paradise of Ischgl and beams at the camera on snapshots – almost as if nothing had happened. “It’s really nice, I have to say, probably even nicer than if we had come here as a couple now. We are totally relieved,” Steff enthuses in an interview with RTL about the trip together.

In 1998 Steff Jerkel met Peggy Jerofke in Arenal on Mallorca. In 2009, the two emigrated together to the Balearic island. There they opened a Greek restaurant. Since 2014, the two have been regularly in front of the camera for the emigrant documentary “Goodbye Germany” on VOX. In 2018, their daughter Josephine was born thanks to artificial insemination. In 2020, Steff Jerkel was diagnosed with TTP (thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura). But that wasn’t a reason for the couple to downshift. In 2021 they moved into the celebrity flat share of “Das Sommerhaus der Stars”.

With a white mountain backdrop, the separation seems to be a thing of the past. “When we said that we broke up, it was kind of a total release for both of us. From that day on we somehow understood each other a lot better,” says Steff, very reflected. His ex also does the time with the people who are most familiar to her very well: “Especially when we are together as a family, everything is super harmonious. And then I often think about it: What is the problem actually?” explains Peggy.
