During the month of April, we told you about rather positive developments on the side of Bungie concerning Destiny 2. The studio notably took new measures against cheating and implemented new accessibility options. However, it is with more difficult news that Bungie is launching the month of May and it concerns the Season Pass of its flagship shooter.
Rising prices to provide new experiences in Destiny 2
On the eve of Season 21 called Season of the Deep, Bungie has just announced its intention to increase the prices of the game’s season pass starting this month. Starting with Season 21, the price of the Standard Season Pass will increase from 1000 Silver to 1200 Silver. Players will therefore have to buy two silver packs to acquire the season pass, whereas one was enough before. Silver pack prices are €4.99 for 500 Silver and €9.99 for 1,100 Silver. The price of the Season Pass plus 10 ranks will also increase from 2,000 Silver to 2,200 Silver.
Bungie said this in a blog post:
“As our teams continue to invest in creating engaging seasonal experiences for the year of Lightfall, we would like to inform you of a slight increase in price for the standalone Season Pass, starting with Season of the Deep.
This will be new Season Pass pricing over the course of Lightfall’s year for those looking to maximize their rewards with each new season, and we’ll be evaluating new approaches to post-launch content over the course of the year. from The Final Shape.
Pricing will remain unchanged for the Standard Edition of Lightfall (which includes access to the current season at the time of purchase) and the Lightfall + Annual Pass Edition (which includes access to Seasons 20-23). “
Destiny 2 Season of the Deep will launch on May 23 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. As a reminder, Destiny 2 is a free-to-play game which, however, requires the purchase of expansions and season passes to enjoy the full content.
