MIAMI.- A fateful one fire mourn the family actress Mariana Derderin, who lost her son Pedro, six years old, when he was trapped in the flames. A few days after the tragedy, Chilean journalist Karen Cordovez revealed more details about what happened.
The incident occurred at dawn on May 8; And although the actress took her children to escape the fire, it is presumed that little Pedro got scared and escaped from his mother’s shelter.
“She and her two children were leaving the house, but the boy got scared and ran away. At first Mariana thought he had gone outside and gotten lost in the street. Then she realized that he was inside the house. housing,” the journalist told the Argentine media TeleShow.
Impossible rescue
Cordovez also explained that the journalist Francisco Aravena, the interpreter’s ex-partner, lives a few blocks from them, so he arrived quickly to provide them with aid and try to rescue the child.
“They tried to access the room through the skylight, but it was too late. The fire consumed everything in 40 minutes. It was difficult for her to reach her son’s room since he slept on the first floor and the window had bars. The latter prevented entry. from the outside,” he lamented.
The reporter pointed out that Aravena is also in poor health, because in the midst of desperation to rescue the child, his respiratory tract suffered damage.
“His condition is delicate and he remains under medical observation,” he added.
Likewise, the captain of the fire service, Rodrigo Cornejo, indicated that it was impossible for him to arrive in time to rescue the child, since the fire was violent and the child was in one of the mainly affected rooms. “It was impossible to access the minor and carry out the respective rescue maneuver. The child was on the first floor in one of the affected rooms.”
When the rescue personnel informed the actress about the death of her child, she had to be treated by medical services. A few hours later she was discharged and transferred to her sister’s house.
