For exactly one week (Friday, January 13th) “Dexter” star Julian Sands (65) missing!

The British series star and passionate hiker did not return home after a trip to Mount Baldy in southern California, according to the responsible sheriff’s office.

His abandoned car has now been found during a major search operation in the mountains, as the BBC reports, citing the Bernandino County Sheriff.

Sand’s silver Volvo station wagon was taken away on Thursday afternoon. According to “Mirror”, recordings show a snow-covered car on a tow truck.

Where is Julian Sands?

The actor, who grew up in Yorkshire, England, has been missing since his migration.

For years, the “Ocean’s 13” star has lived in the Los Angeles area with his wife, writer Evgenia Citkowitz, and they have three children.

When Sands didn’t return, his family reported him missing that same day.

Rescue teams searched the mountainous region around Los Angeles. It’s still covered in snow and ice.

The actor is being searched for by plane and helicopter. Drones are also in use, the sheriff’s office told CNN. However, the first mission had to be canceled after 24 hours due to bad weather and the risk of avalanches.

Mount Baldy (officially Mount San Antonio) is around 3000 meters high and a popular destination for hikers and skiers.

There is a risk of avalanches because of the bad weather: The mountain area northeast of Los Angeles is currently covered with snow and ice. Emergency services have been looking for missing hikers for four weeks

Blizzards, floods, landslides and mudslides have hit California for weeks. There are currently “extremely dangerous” conditions due to snow and ice.

In the mountain region around Los Angeles, two hikers have died in recent weeks and another is missing.

Because of the bad weather, the sheriff’s office had warned even experienced climbers not to hike – that was just a day before Sands’ disappearance…
