The specialist emphasizes that, contrary to what is usually believed, crying is a form of emotional release. “We must not associate the empowerment of women with not crying or expressing what you feel.”

Over the years we have built (erroneously) the idea that strong or brave people do not cry. Which is completely far from reality. Everyone goes through their worst moments as best they can.

The mental health expert clarifies that nowadays there is a lot of intolerance to pain because we associate it with fragility. In addition, he adds that people are afraid of not living up to what society expects of them, so they do not express what they really feel.
