WhatsApp is one of the most used applications worldwide. Currently it is not only used to communicate with friends and family but is extremely useful for work issues.
If we lose access to our messaging account, either because the cell phone where it was configured was stolen, our number was hacked or some other inconvenience, it is a real problem.
That is why we are going to tell you what you have to do in these cases and how you can recover your account very quickly.
Step by step, how to recover WhatsApp account
First of all, you have to block the SIM card. In order to do it, you should contact the mobile phone operator who is the one who can do it. Once the block is done, you will not be able to verify the account again on that phone because it is necessary to receive a text message (SMS) or a call to verify the account.
Subsequently, you have two possibilities:
- First of all, a new SIM card is used but with the old number and so WhatsApp can be activated on another phone. This is the fastest way to disable WhatsApp on the phone that was stolen or lost. You can only activate a WhatsApp account with a phone number and on a single device at a time.
- The other option is to send an email to WhatsApp, to the email [email protected]that has the phrase “Stolen/lost phone: Please deactivate my account” and in the email add the complete data of the number (including the prefix +54).

It must be taken into account that if the SIM card is blocked and the telephone service suspended, WhatsApp could still be used with a Wi-Fi connection if the application is not contacted to download the account.
Even if the user does all the steps, the account will not be completely deactivated. For example, the account is not completely deleted, but contacts will still be able to see your profile and send you messages that will remain pending for up to 30 days.

WhatsApp: Companion mode, ideal for tablets
This feature, tested on Android devices under the name of Companion Mode, would allow an account is shared by more than one deviceto use it without the need for both of you to share the same phone number.

Once exceeded, the content cannot be modified. Also, as a security option in this future feature, messages that were modified will have a “Edited” label located at the bottom right of the text bubble.
At the moment, it has not been reported that users have been notified about the change the content of a message or that they can see a history of changes, but they are features that could be developed in the following months.

The first of the announcements is about the redesign of group calls, which will allow up to 32 simultaneous users and they will have end-to-end encrypted security.
Also, there is a feature that allows you to enter video calls with an invite link. The new tool copes with platforms like Zoom or Google or Meet.

Another new feature will allow you to search for messages within a conversation from a certain date. The application today only allows the search of text messages sent or received by their content.
This new function could include a button inside the search bar that allows the display of a calendar in which a date can be specified within which a message can be searched for again.
