Her nerves were on edge.

Foreign recall at “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”! The best 40 candidates were allowed to travel to Mallorca on Wednesday evening, where most of them first made long faces: instead of a magnificent party villa, a spartan campsite was waiting for the superstar candidates.

When preparing for the group performances, stress was inevitable. Tilly (26) was disgusted by the dirty toilets and promptly threatened to go on a pee strike: “I won’t even go to the toilet anymore if it stays that way!”

The most well-known candidate of the current season had completely different concerns. As a reminder: judge Dieter Bohlen (69) caused a scandal when he attacked the reality show participant Jill Lange (22) at the casting with a saying: “Did you just get your Abi and let yourself be noodled?”

Jill still made it into the recall, but now despaired when she found out which song she should perform with her teammates Olga (29), Rose (23) and Lawa (25): “Big Energy” by Latto, Mariah Carey & DJ Khaled. She didn’t feel up to the task and tearfully lamented: “I know I can’t do it. This is just embarrassing. I know I’m not the best singer.”

She saw Rose clearly at an advantage and told her: “I want a song where I can prove myself and where I can show my voice. It’s such a show for you, but for us the song is nothing at all.” In the meantime, Olga and Lawa had also become friends with the title – and thus caused Jill’s frustration: “I think it’s blatant shit that you don’t be here for me now!”

Even during the rehearsals, Jill’s tears didn’t dry. When the quartet tried the song with coach André Franke (50), Jill didn’t even sing along at first – she compared herself again with Rose: “It sounds shit to me, and it sounds good to you. That’s the difference!”

Together they tried to find a lower pitch that Jill could handle better – although Jill’s tears now caused Lawa to comment: “She should stop crying too, because it will damage her voice.”

Even before the appearance in front of the jury, Jill explained that she had had problems with the song – and promptly received a tip from Bohlen: “Musically, the song is not particularly difficult. The vocal coaches lowered it four semitones for you. Heino can sing that. If you can’t do that, you just have to admit to yourself, ‘I can’t sing!’”

The juror then only had words of praise for Rose, while Jill received a rebuff from Bohlen: “It just didn’t fit somehow. It was such a small, thin voice and such. I have no idea what we’re doing there.” There was criticism from Leony (25) as well as from Katja Krasavice (26), who was also tough: “Very disappointing. That was really very thin.”

Jill was already expecting the worst when Leony later shared the decision: “Jill, you didn’t do well at all today. That really wasn’t good. Olga, you weren’t where you should have been either.”

Surprisingly, the jury did not want to part with either of the two participants – Leony delivered the redeeming message: “Nevertheless, you are both further.”

The following candidates were less fortunate – they had to leave DSDS: Taro (22), Vivien (28), Olivia (21), Julian (27), Bobby (30), Lukas (22), Nico (29), Svenja (22) , Lea (19) and Julienne-Selin (16).
