The Tour de Romandie, which starts on Tuesday, will pit some big names in the peloton against each other, in the middle of the Swiss Alps.

Who will succeed Aleksandr Vlasov? The 76th edition of the Tour de Romandie, which takes place from April 25 to 30, begins on Tuesday April 25. The defending champion absent, the candidates for victory are numerous. Egan Bernal (INEOS Grenadiers), Simon Yates (Team Jayco AlUla)Steven Kruijswijk (Jumbo-Visma), Juan Ayuso and Adam Yates (UAE Team Emirates) are the favourites, accompanied by large formations articulated around them.

On the French side, Romain Bardet (Team DSM), will be keen to play the spoilsports, by interfering in the overall race, while several French riders will seek to win a stage victory. Among them, we will notably find Thibaut Pinot (Groupama-FDJ), Dorian Godon (AG2R Citroën Team) winner of the Flèche Brabançonne, Kévin Vauquelin (Team Arkéa Samsic), or Rémi Cavagna (Soudal Quick-Step) who will be aiming for a victory over a time trial.

The prologue starts Tuesday from Le Bouveret, on the shores of Lake Geneva, for a short route of 6.8 kilometers. Enough to get the peloton on its feet and allow the best rider to wear the leader’s yellow jersey. The first start will be given at 2:50 p.m. while the last runner to start will leave at 5:23 p.m.
