A happy ending. Chloé, a 20-year-old woman who disappeared on Friday morning, was found alive and in good health. While a procedure for worrying disappearance had been triggered, Chloé had run away with her ex-companion and was in a campsite in the Marne.
An important research device had been deployed on Friday. A beat mobilized more than 250 people this Saturday and a hundred gendarmes were deployed. Does the young woman expose herself to legal trouble for not having given any news?
“She has the right to evaporate”
When you are of legal age and you are not a protected person, it is completely legal to leave and disappear without leaving a trace. “She has the right to evaporate, she does what she wants”, abounds in this direction Me Carbon de Seze, criminal lawyer, head of the Human Rights Commission of the Paris Bar, on BFMTV.
Although she did not give any news, Chloe did not make false declarations, her actions are therefore not legally reprehensible. She also explained that she learned that a search device was deployed to locate her, but she thought it was going to stop.
“It will not bring him any legal trouble, it is a culpable levity from a civic point of view but not from a legal point of view”, continues Me Carbon de Seze.
Heard by investigators
The young woman was however heard by the gendarmes in charge of the investigation this Saturday. “She could escape this interrogation but the purpose of it is to precisely control that this escapade was free”, explains the lawyer.
The objective of this hearing is indeed to verify her version of the facts in order to ensure that she was not forced to disappear or that she was not under the influence, for example, of her ex-companion had who she was.
