DJI has just announced the launch of its newest high-performance drone with the great advantage of being the world’s first model with three main cameras. The Mavic 3 Pro offers a higher quality and more consistent zoom range thanks to the use of two dedicated zoom lenses, while still maintaining features such as anti-collision sensors, video transmission up to 15 km and recording in 5.1K resolution.

With the triple camera set being its great attraction, the Mavic 3 Pro arrives with a 4/3″ main sensor with 20 MP resolution, variable aperture from f / 2.8 to f / 11 and format equivalent to a 24 mm lens. The first telephoto lens features a 48MP 1/1.3″ sensor, f/2.8 aperture and 70mm equivalent format with 3x optical zoom. The second zoom lens has a 12 MP 1/2″ sensor, f/3.4 aperture and 166 mm equivalent format with 7x optical zoom without loss of quality and hybrid zoom of up to 28x.

“At DJI, we are constantly evolving our products to help capture fascinating landscapes and explore visual storytelling through video and stills,” said Ferdinand Wolf, Creative Director at DJI. “The Mavic 3 Pro’s triple camera combo gives users the ability to switch between photo composition with just one tap, allowing content creators a greater variety of shots in less time than ever before. We can’t wait to see what end result of how people use the drone to alter viewers’ perception of space and distance.”

The new Mavic 3 Pro is capable of capturing photos in RAW quality with 12-bit and native dynamic range to preserve image details and offer great customization for professionals.

In partnership with the historic camera brand Hasselblad, the drone supports Hasselblad Natural Color Solution (HNCS) technology to restore the colors perceived by the human eye for accurate tonal images without the need for post-production or complex color presets.

DJI also offers a new D-LOG M 10-bit color mode to support video recording in up to 1 billion colors, resulting in “even greater high-contrast scenes such as sunsets and sunrises” while time that reduces the difficulty of color adjustment, “allowing for more efficient post-production without losing image quality or clarity.”

For professional users looking to squeeze the most out of recorded footage, there’s also Mavic 3 Pro Cine mode and support for Apple ProRes 442 HQ on all three of the drone’s cameras.

The drone maintains well-known brand features such as the use of eight sensors for an advanced anti-collision system, preventing the equipment from colliding with objects around it and planning flight routes to avoid them.

Another big news is its extended flight time, with the Mavic 3 Pro now offering up to 43 minutes on a battery charge.

With the DJI O3 Plus, professional users can enjoy live streaming range in Full HD resolution at 60 fps with the drone up to 15 km away, allowing creators to explore remote scenarios with quality assurance.

More differentiators include the automatic flight experience with Advanced RTH, Auto Return function that allows the DJI Mavic 3 Pro to automatically determine a safe and efficient flight path back to your starting point.

The drone is also capable of automatically planning a flight route based on trajectories predefined by the user, in addition to being able to even repeat such routes precisely for those looking to record at different times of the day or week.

It is also possible to perform Trajectory Flight so that the Mavic 3 Pro flies in any direction without the need to use the controller, facilitating long duration flights and reducing shaking during manual flights by stabilizing camera movements.

Other features of the drone include the FocusTrack for automatic tracking in multiple directions, MasterShot for automatic recording and editing, QuickShots that allow the execution of complex camera movements, Panoramic to create 100 MP landscape photos and QuickTransfer for quick transfer of photos and videos to your smartphone.
