Celebrity under palm trees…

moderator Cathy Hummels (34) loves to travel to distant countries. She is currently in Thailand for the fourth season of “Battle of the Reality Stars” (RTLZWEI) in front of the camera. There is also a lot of jungle and lots of palm trees.

But a participation in “I’m a star – get me out of here!” (RTL) is out of the question for Hummels. In her podcast “sHitstorms” with comedian Matze Knop (48), she also revealed why that is.

After about ten minutes of conversation, Knop asked Cathy: “Would you go into the jungle?” And triggers a veritable torrent of speech from the moderator. Cathy: No, absolutely not. I really enjoy hosting reality TV. But I would never go into the jungle…”

Her explanation: “I am afraid of very few things. I’m not afraid of heights, I’ve also done a parachute jump. But you know what I don’t like at all? creepy crawlies, ants. i hate ants And there are so many ants in the jungle. They would really piss me off. I don’t know why, but I have an ant phobia.”

It doesn’t bother her when she sees them crawling on the floor, the presenter continues. “But the thought that there are many animals. All those ants. And then I sleep and then ants crawl in everywhere. I think that would make me restless. I couldn’t close my eyes, no eye for 24/7.”

Knop is obviously amused and digs deeper: “What’s an ant supposed to do?” Cathy’s answer: “It crawls in my ear and pees at me. I hate ants and ear crawlers.”

Hummels also has a second anecdote for her aversion to insects: “When I was ten years old, my cousin and I went to a children’s camp. Then we slept in the tent. can you believe it My poor cousin had to take down the tent during the night. There’s a net in there. Five or six ear crawlers caught themselves there. I yelled at my cousin: ‘Philipp, you have to take this down now! That does not work like this! I can’t sleep here!’”

Her cousin took down the tent, shook away the crawling ears and then she was able to sleep again: “I’m so traumatized – also for the reason – because my parents always forced me to go camping.”

This experience seems to have left Cathy with such bad memories that her participation in the jungle camp is not to be expected in the years to come…
