Step.- On April 11, 2023 Central Regional Command Officers responded to the 4100 block of Altura on a family violence call of ongoing aggravated assault.

Victim 1 and Victim 2 told officers that 31-year-old Jon Moses Franco had threatened them with the knife prior to the officer’s arrival. Victim 1 suffered a head injury caused by Franco.

Officers located the suspect outside the residence with a knife. A request for Crisis assistance was made

Management Team and Crisis Intervention Officers who responded and began to negotiate with Franco asking him to put down the knife. Franco advanced on the officers and the officers deployed less lethal bean bag rounds that struck Franco and caused him to drop his weapon.

An officer fired a shot from his firearm that missed the offender.

There were no disruptions to schools in the immediate area during this incident. The offender was arrested and taken to the hospital for his injuries.

Franco was charged with four counts and was later booked into the El Paso County Detention Center.

Crimes Against Persons, Crime Scene, Internal Affairs and Texas Rangers responded to the scene and the investigation continues.
