With the aim of promoting financial inclusion, the Banco de la Nación Argentina (BNA) launched an account especially for those who work in private homes. This is a free account that can be accessed by registered domestic service employees who complete a minimum of 12 hours of work per week in various services.

As detailed from the financial institution, those people who carry out cleaning, maintenance or any related activity at home can join; of assistance and accompaniment to adults, the elderly or minors, and those who perform non-therapeutic care for sick or disabled people.

“The account is called Simple Nation, it has a 100% free opening and includes the salary account with a debit card and a Visa or Mastercard credit card also free of charge, with the initial limit equivalent to a minimum wage,” they indicated.

Today, a Minimum Vital and Mobile Salary (SMVyM) is equivalent to $65,427, so that will be the initial amount authorized for consumption for credit cards requested by domestic service workers. Then, the roof will go down, along with each update of the SMVyM.

Account Requirements
In order to access the Simple Nation account, the first thing workers must do is verify that their employer has registered them correctly with the AFIP. The account must be opened personally by the employee. To start the application, you need a National Identity Document and the last salary receipt that proves the minimum weekly hours required, which are 12.

The salary account allows you to collect your salary by transfer and carry out operations at all ATMs, both in the Link network and in Banelco, without limit and without cost.

The Simple Nation account service package also allows you to request a loan, for which you need, in addition to your DNI, the last three consecutive salary receipts showing at least 12 hours of work per week. The maximum amount will depend on the average monthly income of each worker.

What are the benefits
With the Simple Nation account for workers in private homes you can:

-Access accounts, cards and pay in stores from your cell phone with the BNA+ application.

-Take advantage of the exclusive promotions called Nation Week in items such as perfumery, pharmacies, neighborhood shops, wholesale and retail supermarkets.

-Buy at the BNA store with the possibility of choosing from thousands of products and paying in interest-free installments.

-Access the benefits program by accumulating points (they can be exchanged for prizes).

The president of the BNA, Silvina Batakis, celebrated that, through the accounts for workers in private homes, they continue to bring the Bank’s services closer to the entire population. “The challenge is for our entity to be the main benchmark in financial inclusion in the entire country because we want to guarantee quality financial education,” she stressed.

New salary increase
This month domestic service employees will receive a 7% increase, which will be added to the 8% applied in December. Then, there will be a 5% adjustment in February and another 4% in March.
