Don Cheadle is known for his role as War Machine in Iron Man 2. Cheadle was offered one hour to decide if he would sign a contract for 6 films, when the previous actor Terrence Howard quit over a salary dispute. To make matters more stressful, he was at his child’s baby shower at the time of the incident. He described the situation as follows:
I was at my kid’s laser tag birthday party,” Cheadle said. “They called me and said, ‘This is what’s happening and we’re giving you the offer. If you don’t say yes then we’re going to the next person. This is going to happen very fast. Why don’t you take an hour and decide if you want to do it.’ It was a six-movie deal! In an hour I have to decide?
He managed to negotiate an extra hour. Which made it possible for him to get a deal done. This has turned out to be good for him as he has been featured in many Marvel movies and is up for the upcoming movie Armor Wars.
