Hamburg has a new musical star, none other than pop singer Stefanie Hertel. Overjoyed, the 43-year-old now announces that she will be appearing in the hit musical “Mamma mia” from April.
Hamburg – Stefanie Hertel (43) has been on stage since she was a child and has already tried out a few things: folk music, hits, in 2019 she surprised fans as a sexy panther on “The Masked Singer” and she regularly proves her moderation skills on “WENN the music is playing”. But with the musical engagement in Hamburg, a dream is now coming true for Stefanie Hertel.

The musical is a long-running hit in Hamburg and has now been extended until January 2024 due to its great success. From April 7, 2023, Stefanie Hertel can also be seen on stage. The pop singer takes on the role of “Tanja” – the three times divorced, botox and man-loving friend of the protagonist “Donna Sheridan”.
Stefanie Hertel can hardly wait to be on stage in the German musical capital. “In 2002 I was at the German premiere in the Operettenhaus stage and I couldn’t help but be overjoyed. (…) At MAMMA MIA! I feel like I need to watch it over and over again. I’m really the biggest fan of this musical,” she says in an interview with Stage Entertainment.
A small drop of bitterness for the fans: Stefanie Hertel will not be seen as “Tanja” at every performance, but will only appear on selected dates.

Stefanie Hertel soon as “Tanya” in “Mamma Mmia”: The pop singer is a big ABBA fan herself
For Stefanie Hertel, the role in “Mamma mia” is not just a job, but a dream that comes true. Because the pop singer has been a big ABBA fan since childhood. “My parents had ABBA records in the closet and I discovered them when I was 12 and was completely blown away,” recalls the pop singer.
But: Of course, Stefanie Hertel doesn’t want to neglect the Schlager. In the podcast by fellow pop singer Linda Hesse, she reveals: “I will definitely make a pop record again. I absolutely intend to.”
