As actor Bruce Willis was diagnosed with incurable dementia, messages of friendship and support are on the rise in Hollywood.

He had announced less than a year ago to be suffering from aphasia and to end his acting career. Bruce Willis now suffers from an incurable form of dementia, his relatives announced Thursday on Instagram.

The day after this announcement, many Hollywood stars and friends in the film industry took to social media to support the American actor and film producer and his family.

“Love you so much my friend! Hugs to you and your beautiful family. Your dad is a true legend,” the series star wrote breaking BadAaron Paul under the Instagram message of Bruce Willis’ daughter, Rumer.

“God bless you brother, we love you! Thank you and your family for all the fun times,” rapper Queen Latifah commented, while comedian Selma Blair, who has often spoken on his fight against multiple sclerosis, also sent his support to Bruce Willis and his family.

Many people hail the career of Bruce Willis. Like Carl Weathers, actor of the saga rockywho wrote, “His talent has been appreciated ‘around the world’! DIE HARD, SIXTH SENSE, PULP FICTION! Love his work.”

“No treatment”

Bruce Willis, 67, ended his career in March 2022 for health reasons. He revealed that he had aphasia, a language disorder caused by brain damage.

But since last year, “Bruce’s disease has progressed,” explained his relatives in their press release posted on Instagram. “Unfortunately, the communication difficulties are only a symptom of the illness that Bruce is facing,” explained the family, saying however “relieved to finally have a clear diagnosis”.

Frontotemporal degeneration (FTD) is a neurodegenerative disease, related to Alzheimer’s disease. People with FTD may experience memory problems, behavioral changes, or difficulty speaking or moving.

“Today, there is no cure for this disease, a reality that we hope can change in the years to come,” the family stressed.
