Drug trafficking is intensifying more and more in France. It is becoming a real business that affects large cities, but also small towns in the country. For example, at the beginning of this month of January 2023, a drug trafficking network was dismantled in the Bayonne region.

The facts date back to January 2. 35 police officers mobilized in the station area to dismantle a network of cocaine traffickers. At its head is an Algerian, 43 years old, residing in Spain, reports France bleu.

The network is also composed of another Algerian national, aged 33, in an irregular situation in France. But also of a 26-year-old Frenchman who resold these drugs on behalf of his boss.

The investigation launched in this case revealed that the head of this network, in particular the Algerian, is well known to the judicial services in Spain. And often went back and forth between the two countries. Indeed, in the afternoon of Monday, January 2. The police decided to close the area to traffic to make the arrests.

Following these searches, the investigators managed to get their hands on a quantity of Cocaine as well as 6,650 euros at the head of this network of traffickers. For his part, Olivier Calia, the commissioner of Bayonne, mentioned 1,500 euros in daily earnings thanks to his drug trafficking operations. The three defendants were presented, on January 8, before the Bayonne court.

Two other Algerians arrested in Cahors for cannabis trafficking

In addition, on January 6, two other Algerian nationals were presented before the correctional court of Cahors. And this, for their involvement in cannabis and cocaine trafficking in one of the residences in the region.

These are two young Algerians, aged 24 and 25 respectively, in recidivism, reports actu.fr. The facts date back to last November, following the receipt by the police of a report of a ride that made the residence in question unlivable.

The investigations carried out in this context revealed that this traffic was carried out from several apartments in the residence. The traffickers were using Snapchat for order taking. In addition, several arrests took place last December, including those concerning the two Algerians.

The court in charge of this case pronounced a prison sentence ranging from 1 to 3 years in prison. With a definitive ban on French territory.
