Is Techland working on Dying Light 3? The studio drops a big clue by asking players about the hero of the game.

Dying Light 2 delighted fans of zombies, parkour and open worlds when it was released in February 2022. The game developed by Techland gives pride of place to action, like a certain Dead Island 2, which we have just tested (and whose first opus was also developed by Techland). After two opuses of Dying Light, what does the studio have in store for us? Last May, Techland said it was working on a new license. “Our ambition is to introduce a whole new IP that is very different from what we have done in recent years. We want to create an entirely new experience. A new fantasy epic set in a vast open world, fueled by skills and the experience we’ve gained as a team over the years, infused with new ideas, passion and creativity,” the studio’s official website reads. Techland don’t forget Dying Light 3 however…

Which hero in Dying Light 3? The fans have decided!

On his Twitter account, Tymon Smektała, director of the first two games Dying Lightbluntly evokes Dying Light 3. He asks the players, through a survey, which hero would they like to see as the main character of this new opus. The most popular answer is GRE Agent at 42.8% out of almost 6,000 votes. Tymon Smektala makes it clear that this is not an officialization of Dying Light 3. We want to believe it, but we suspect that he is not asking the question by chance either. This simple survey should be enough to make fans of the license happy. This one is now closed, but nothing prevents you from giving your opinion in response to the initial tweet. Maybe your point of view will make the developers of the studio think…

Even more powers in the next installment?

Last year, Tymon Smektala told VGC that he wanted a character that starts “with more powers, more skills, more abilities as a base skill set” in Dying Light 3. If the game is done one day, he did not fail to specify. The sense of progression is one of the strengths of games Dying Light. Techland seems to want to go even further in its approach. Between Dying Light 3 and its new open-world IP, Polish developers should have their work cut out for them in the years to come.
