The scientific community studies the curious phenomenon of a exoplanet located quite a distance from our Earth, which would have physical qualities quite similar to our home, at the same time that it would be the source of a series of mysterious repetitive radio signals at first.
For decades, Repetitive Radio Signals, also known as Fast Radio Burst (FRB)have been considered as a potential source of contact with any kind of extraterrestrial life, in the hypothetical case that some other civilization generated such a level of activity that it was detectable up to now.
However, to date, not a single case has been officially documented in which contact has been established in this way. Although, with the advancement of technology, the cases where various exoplanets and corners of the universe register this kind of activity have increased.
The reasons for the presentation of FRB sequences are diverse, from the manifestation of a Super Nova to a supermassive black hole, or even, sometimes the very qualities of the body that emits the signal would be to blame for everything.
The latter would be the case we are addressing today, where it aimed to be something historical, to end up in something much less threatening but with high doses of scientific interest.
The exoplanet that looks so much like Earth that it emits repetitive radio signals
A team of researchers from the University of Colorado Boulder and other institutions have presented in the most recent edition of Nature Astronomy the results of his most recent investigation.
Where they would have detected a repetitive radio signal, an FRB, which ended up leading them to their origin on an exoplanet named YZ Ceti b, located 12 light years from Earth with characteristics very similar to our house.
However, in the end it would not have been a site with a civilization as advanced as ours trying to contact someone in space.
Rather, the exoplanet itself would have its own atmosphere as well as its own magnetic field, which would be detonating these emissions due to its interaction with the magnetic field of YZ Ceti b and his star.
The curious thing here is that this combination of factors would be a phenomenon that had not been detected until now on planets similar to ours.
