This earthquake was announced on the official page of Algerian civil protection shortly after said earthquake. It was recorded, more precisely 06 kilometers south-west of the municipality of Baata in the wilaya of Medea.
Regarding the intensity of this earthquake, the same press release revealed that it was of magnitude 2.6 on the Richter scale. Fortunately, no human loss was recorded by the emergency services.

Earlier in the year, on December 17, 2022, an earthquake was recorded 30 km north of Sidi Lakhdar in the Mostaganem wilaya at 4:39. The magnitude has also been communicated and amounts to 3.4 on the Richter scale.
