Edinburg shooting: there are two additional suspects after arrest of alleged perpetrator

Two additional suspects were identified this Thursday after the arrest of Samuel López, 17, a native of San Juan, Texas, for the shooting that occurred early Sunday morning at the El Antro nightclub that left seven people with gunshot wounds.

Lopez was taken into custody by agents of the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office and the US Marshals. “We would like to thank our federal partners and the public for their assistance in this case,” he said in the statement. López will be brought before a judge this Tuesday to be formally charged.

The incident for which López was arrested occurred this past Sunday at 4:35 am At that time, agents responded to a call alerting them to shots that occurred at the El Antro nightclub, located on Raúl Longoria road, in Edinburg, Texas.

Police officers discovered seven people with gunshot wounds at the scene, who were transported to a local hospital. So far five of the injured have been discharged from the hospital and the two victims who were listed in critical condition are now stable.
