In the second round of the NHL playoffs, the Edmonton Oilers clearly won over the Vegas Gold Knights with the numbers 5–1. It was a violent game as Edmonton evened the series at 1–1.

Efficient Edmonton

Edmonton benefited from the home team’s ejections, as three of Edmonton’s goals came on the power play. Edmonton even scored a goal while being outnumbered, perhaps showing which was the better team. Already in the first period, the numbers were written 4-0 in Edmonton’s favor and the match was almost decided. Vegas’ first and only goal was scored by Ivan Barbashev in the final period.

In Edmonton, the scorers were Leon Draisaitl (2+0), Connor McDavid (2+1) and Evan Bouchard (1+1). Zach Hyman accounted for three scoring passes.

The score between the teams is now 1-1.

Draisaitl is performing

Edmonton’s Leon Draisaitl now leads the scoring market with 13+4 after eight playoff games played. In second place is teammate McDavids with the result 5+10. Draisaitl has scored at least one point in every playoff game this year.

In the last match, he scored four goals, which lifted him high in the charts on a historical level. He thus became the first player in the NHL to score six goals in the first two games of a playoff series.
