With the emergence of different applications that make use of the Artificial intelligencethe education technology company plazi has begun to offer courses and training aimed at teaching how to make the most of the capabilities offered by language models such as the popular ChatGPT.

One of the most recent courses launched by plazi is the call Prompt Engineering (request engineering), in which students can learn to write requests or questions that generate a more effective response or solution to the requests they make to the language engine ChatGPT.

“There are many techniques that allow you to get better responses from ChatGPT. For example, there is a technique called roleplay, which assigns a role to the language model, such as being an editor of a scientific journal, and which gives ChatGPT more context to offer you a better response to questions. your requests”, said Manuel Sescosse, Vice President of Finance at Platzi in an interview.

ChatGPT is a model of artificial language created by the American company Open AI. It is able to process large amounts of data and learn to answer questions and perform natural language tasks such as generating coherent text and having conversations with users.

The course of plazi also teaches users to modify the parameters that modulate different aspects of ChatGPT, like temperature. Temperature is a parameter used in language models in order to control the randomness and diversity of the responses generated.

According to Sescosse, the temperature of the language model can range from zero to one. While the temperature of ChatGPT is closer to zero, the model offers more precise and formal answers, since the risk it takes in its answers is lower; on the contrary, if the temperature assigned to the motor is closer to one, the answers will be more creative.

Edtech maintains growth

Technological learning platforms, such as plazi, udemy either Coursera, are the ones that generate the highest income within the industry called edtech (education technology). The growth of this business, in the words of Sescosse, has been maintained even after the end of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“There are two comparable public companies, which are udemy and Coursera, and if you see the growth of their profits it continues until the last quarter. The pandemic helped the industry a lot, but the drive to continue studying and growing in skills is still there,” he said.

The Mexican edtech market will reach a value of 721 million dollars in 2023, which represents a growth of 13.5% compared to 2022. The platform estimates that this industry will maintain an average annual growth of 11.59% per year until 2027, when it will register a value of 1,118 million dollars.

Based on this expectation of growth, plazi will perform his Platzi Conferencee, in the Papalote Children’s Museum, next Saturday May 13, a cycle of conferences focused on learning, in which the founders of the company Freddy Vega and Christian Van Der Henst will be present; the CEO of the Mexican unicorn Nowports, Alfonso de los Ríos; the scientific disseminator Julieta Fierro and the general director in Mexico of Bitso, Bárbara González Briceño.
