These include allowing an additional dose of the bivalent vaccine against COVID-19 for older adults and immunosuppressed people. “This allows greater flexibility for medical care providers to administer additional doses to immunocompromised patients if necessary”, as explained.

Likewise, the monovalent mRNA vaccines are not yet recommended, but all persons older than six years receive the bivalent vaccine (updated) as soon as the respective doses have been completed with the previous versions.

The CDC clarified that those who have received an updated mRNA vaccine should not take any action unless they are 65 years old or immunocompromised.

“For small children, multiple doses are still recommended and will vary according to age, vacuna and vacunas that have been received previously”, was added.
