Actually, the coach Oliver Glasner at Eintracht Frankfurt is more than satisfied. This is mutual. After all, the club wrote club history under Glasner’s leadership: In the summer, Eintracht won the Europa League. It was the first international success for Frankfurt in 42 years.

In the Bundesliga, the Hessians finally wintered in fourth place. You now want to build on past successes. Eintracht wants to stay on course for the premier class and is now also in the Champions League round of 16. So it’s not surprising that coach Glasner is on the radar of some clubs. Apparently a top club has even knocked on the door of the Austrian.
Crisis club FC Chelsea asked Oliver Glasner
As early as last summer, Chelsea felt the 49-year-old, as “Bild” reported. Accordingly, London asked Glasner if he could imagine a job as a coach at Chelsea.
Glasner declined. Instead, he really wanted to play with Eintracht in the Champions League. The success that followed should only have encouraged the Austrian in his decision.
However, it is not unlikely that they will follow up again: Despite the fact that only in September Thomas Tuchel was rudely “left” at the British club and his successor Graham Potter has only recently held the post.
Because the hope that Potter would push the Londoners back up did not come true. At least so far. On the contrary: Under him, Chelsea fell even further.

Crash down: Potter as the successor to Tuchel was heavily criticized
The Londoners were knocked out of English Cup competitions – the FA Cup and the EFL Cup – under Potter. And that’s not all: After the seventh defeat in the last nine games, Chelsea are already eight points behind a place in the European Cup in tenth place.

It’s getting tight for Potter as a coach with the Londoners. He is more than aware of this himself, as he recently revealed: “Coaching Chelsea is probably the toughest job in football,” he said after the last defeat at Fulham. One thing is clear: if there is no relevant U-turn, leaving Chelsea is the only logical consequence for him.
Oliver Glasner could get Chelsea out of the crisis – if the offer is right
At the latest then a successor must be found. The new club owners around US billionaire Todd Boehly could then try their luck again with Eintracht coach Glasner. According to “Bild”, he has no ambitions to turn his back on Frankfurt.

But that cannot be ruled out. If Frankfurt misses the Champions League qualification in the summer or if more top performers than expected leave, the situation can change quickly. Glasner himself also commented on the rumours:
“If I say now, I’m staying here anyway – and then something extraordinary happens, where maybe the club says: ‘Oliver, do it’…’ I don’t intend to do it in any way, but it’s the same for me as it is for everyone Players – the market makes the laws.”
The Eintracht coach keeps all doors open. Maybe it just takes the right time to make a change.
Marco Reus is currently playing his eleventh season in Dortmund. He’s now a club icon: a key player on the pitch, a leader in the dressing room and a fan favorite in the corner.
