Ekaterina Leonova, known as “Ekat”, was born on April 23, 1987 in Volgograd (Soviet Union). She started dancing when she was ten. She has a special fondness for standard and latin dances.
She graduated from high school with top marks and also trained as a dance teacher. Then she went to the Institute for Art and Culture in Volgograd to study social pedagogy.
In 2008 she was named “Miss Volgograd” and moved to Cologne. While she was studying business administration in Germany, she continued to dance professionally and in 2012 she became the winner of the EU Cup and the World Cup in ballroom dancing.
Ekaterina has been a professional dancer on the RTL show “Let’s Dance” since 2013. She took first place there three times in a row. With her, singer Gil Ofarim, comedian Ingolf Lück and ex-handball player Pascal Hens won in seasons 10 to 12.
After the 12th season, her contract was initially not renewed. However, she returned in season 15 to teach comedian Bastian Bielendorfer how to dance.
Ekaterina is considered one of the most successful dancers on the show and is a real crowd puller. In the 16th season she is now trying together with Mentalist Timon Krause to win the title again.

Away from the dance floor on “Let’s Dance”, Ekat had concerns mainly because of her residence status. As she was born in Russia, she does not have a German passport and after her studies it was unclear for a long time whether she would be allowed to stay in Germany.
So that she could stay in Germany, the broadcaster RTL gave her a job in the online editorial department in 2019. She moved from Cologne to Munich and between 2021 and 2022 she worked for a Munich company in event and social media marketing.
For years, fans have been asking themselves everything about the relationship status of the beautiful Russian. In November 2022 she finally made it public on Instagram. Captioning a snap from Venice, she wrote: “As you know, my private life is often speculated about. To end this, I want to share something special with you today. I’ve been in a steady and very nice relationship for a few months.”
But now the love hammer follows: Because according to BILD information, Ekat and the millionaire Hasan Kivran (56) are separated again!
And: Emotional chaos in the current season “Let’s Dance”. According to BILD information, Ekat’s dance partner, star magician Timon Krause (28), should also have a love break. Krause is said to have separated from his girlfriend Sarah Fuchs.
