In an interview with the media Radio Formula With the journalist Azucena Uresti, the former presidential candidate indicated that, despite not yet having a stable agreement, he does not rule out the possibility of getting into the federal electoral contest, where state positions will be renewed, the leadership of Mexico City, and he Head of the Federal Executive.

El Bronco revealed that it has held meetings and encounters with political actors, however, the most relevant has been the national leader of the Democratic Revolution Party (PRD), Jesus Zambrano Grijalvawho recently visited the former governor of his home due to his state of health.

Given this, Jaime Rodríguez stressed that he has a good relationship with the leader of Sol Azteca with whom he spoke of the democratic and political situation of the country with a view to the electoral contest of 2024.

However, the former presidential candidate indicated that the PRD leader has not formally offered him to join the party to compete in the upcoming elections. However, he has not ruled out joining the race for state office.

The former governor, who recently suffered from health complications, revealed that he is not afraid of running for office, since either through partisan channels or as an independent, he would like to occupy a place on the electoral ballot.

“I am observing, I am talking with people, trying to have a complete analysis of the situation… I am not afraid of being an independent candidate,” the former president said in an interview.

Regarding the visit of Jesús Zambrano, the former governor of Nuevo León indicated that it was for reasons of consultation and related matters, because like him, the leader of Sol Azteca met with Samuel Garcia, current head of state executive.

“I am visualizing what I can or cannot, if I dare to be a deputy, I have a chance. Nuevo León is a powerful state that has a sympathy for daring (…) I am still in meetings with some political actors. They insist on participation, the peninsula of Yucatan it is experiencing intense political participation”, highlighted the former regional governor.

It was just last February that Jaime Rodríguez, during his tour of different universities in the entity, revived the rumors about his possible candidacy for the head of the federal Executive, a position to which he had already aspired in the 2018 elections.

The former governor of Nuevo León indicated that, had he decided to compete again for the presidency of the Republic, he would go by independent waye, because his confidence in the political parties was more than worn.
