NY.- Óscar Nava Valencia, “El Lobo”, former leader of the Milenio Cartel, testified in the trial against Genaro García Luna, and said that he paid the former Secretary of Public Security more than 10 million dollars in exchange for protection and information from rivals.

Nava Valencia explained to the jury that Arturo Beltrán-Leyva and La Barbie informed him that the money was going to García Luna. She added that Chapo Guzmán told her that the former police commander worked with the Sinaloa Cartel.

In addition, he said that he contributed 2.5 million dollars in exchange for information and protection to smuggle cocaine at the Mexico City airport.

The testimony of “El Lobo” joins that of other drug traffickers such as Sergio Villarreal Barragán, “El Grande”, and Tirso Martínez Sánchez, “El Futbolista”, in a trial that began last week.
