She wanted to live, fought to the end and documented her battle with cancer on Instagram. Not only her 982,000 followers had hoped for a miracle for the Spanish influencer Elena Huelva († 20), but also herself.
But now there is sad certainty: the fun-loving Spaniard has lost the fight against cancer. Elena died when she was only 20 years old.
Elena was diagnosed with the rare Ewing’s sarcoma when she was a teenager. A form of bone cancer that occurs mainly in children and adolescents and is difficult to cure.
Elena wanted to fight, but the 20-year-old couldn’t fight the incurable cancer
The 20-year-old seemed to suspect that her life would end at just 20 years old. Almost three weeks before her untimely death, she shared a video saying goodbye to her fans.
Elena very moving: “No matter what happens, I know that my life was not meaningless because I fought and achieved what I wanted to achieve: draw attention to the disease. Ultimately, it is about living and making memories, and I will take with me many good memories with many wonderful people.”
In her last Instagram post on January 3, the Spaniard posted a photo holding her loved one’s hands. Including the words: “These were very difficult days, they are becoming more and more complicated.”
Despite the serious illness, Elena’s Instagram post is bursting with joie de vivre.
Their goal: to educate about the disease and give hope to other affected people! She posted pictures from the hospital that showed her weakened and sitting in a wheelchair, but also happy pictures from Disneyland in Paris or from the Spanish newspaper “Elle”, for which the 20-year-old modeled.
The family informed all fans about Elena’s death via Instagram. With the loving words: “Since this morning Elena has been dancing and looking down on you from her star. Thank you for everything.”
