Three Algerian international players appear in the eleven Maghreb type of the year 2022. They are Riyad Mahrez, Ismael Bennacer and Ramy Bensebaini. It is not a surprise after their teams last season, respectively Manchester City, AC Milan and Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Like every year, the specialized French newspaper “L’Equipe”, established the eleven Maghrebian type. This concerns in particular Moroccan, Algerian and Tunisian players who play in the five major European championships.
Unsurprisingly, three Algerian international players are included. Indeed, it is Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City), Ismael Bennacer (AC Milan) and Ramy Bensebaini (Borussia Mönchegladbach).
Mahrez had a remarkable season with Man City, at the end of which he was crowned champion of England with his team. Better still, his statistics plead in favor with 21 goals scored and 9 nine assists delivered, in all competitions. As for Bennacer, he has established himself as an essential element with AC Mila. The icing on the cake is winning the Scudetto with the Rossoneri. Finally, Bensebaini has an impressive margin of progress with Mönchengladbach. His good season has, moreover, aroused the admiration of several recruiters.
Note that Youcef Atal (OGC Nice) and Youcef Belaïli (Brest then Ajaccio) are on the list of substitute players.
Moroccans in force
In the eleven Maghreb type of the year 2022, we see that Moroccan players are present in force. They are 6, in this case the goalkeeper Yassine Bounou (FC Sevilla), the two defenders Achraf Hakimi (PSG) and Nayef Aguerd (West Ham), Sofyan Amrabat (Fiorentina), Sofiane Boufal (SCO Angers) and finally Youssef En-Nessyri (Sevilla FC).
In addition to the three Algerian internationals and the six Moroccans, the two Tunisians Aissa Laidouni (Ferencvanos) and Mountassar Talbi (FC Lorient) also form the eleven Maghreb type of the year 2022.
