There series of 8 Milea cult film starring the character played by Eminem, will be adapted for the small screen thanks to a new television series based on the semi-autobiographical film of 2002. The series will be developed by Marshall “Eminem” Mathers and Curtis ” 50 Cent” Jackson, also a world-renowned multi-platinum rapper and record entrepreneur.

during ainterview on BigBoyTV, 50 Cent confirmed he is working on the series of 8 Mile, saying it didn’t take long to get Eminen to translate the film loosely based on his life into television language. 50 Cent also assured fans they can look forward to a strong product that does justice to the film.

While the series will do its best to replicate the essence of 8 Mile50 Cent said several elements will be modernized to ensure audiences can dive deeper into the tale:

I want to be able to show and offer a lot more detail. You will see these things come to the fore in the character’s temperament.

At this time, no official details have yet been revealed regarding the production or potential casting of the series.

8 Mile became a cult classic at the height of Eminem’s success in the music industry, with the rap legend playing Jimmy Smith Jr. aka “B-Rabbit,” an auto factory worker trying to carve out a career in the rap.

The film also starred Mekhi Phifer as Jimmy’s best friend, “Future”, the late Brittany Murphy as his love interest, Alex, Kim Basinger as Jimmy’s mother, and the star of the franchise of Captain America Anthony Mackie in the role of “Papa Doc”. 8 Mile it grossed $242.9 million worldwide and was one of the most popular films of 2002. Also featured on its soundtrack is the Billboard chart-topping and award-winning single, Lose Yourself.
