Emmanuel Macron confirms that 2023 will be the year of pension reform

“We will help you until victory”, declares Emmanuel Macron with regard to the Ukrainians.

Calling for “ecological planning”, Emmanuel Macron detailed his plan in this area.

“With the France 2030 plan, we will continue to invest, to innovate. And after the law on renewable energies, the law on nuclear power will mark the launch of new power plants on our territory”, he explains.

“The ecological transition is a battle that we must win,” urged the president again.

Emmanuel Macron confirms that his government will reform the pension system in 2023.

“This year will indeed be the year of a pension reform that aims for a balance for the years and decades to come,” he said.

According to the president, “we need to work more”.

“I believe that this year 2023 is first and foremost the year of questions that I know are worrying and of crises to be faced”, acknowledged Emmanuel Macron.

Before reassuring about power outages:

“If we’ve been doing this for months, continuing to reactivate our nuclear reactors, we’ll get there.”

Despite an “appalling energy crisis”, “inflation”, nuclear threats or “the climate crisis”, “what has remained constant is our collective ability to meet these challenges”, according to Emmanuel Macron.

In the introduction to his wishes to the French, Emmanuel Macron evoked this imperative of “unity of the nation”.

“I wish us above all to “live 2023 as much as possible in a united and united country”, said the President.

According to information from BFMTV, Emmanuel Macron’s speech should last 18 minutes 30, a record in the history of the Fifth Republic.

Charles de Gaulle, with an 18-minute speech in 1961, long held the record. He had been beaten by Emmanuel Macron for the first time in 2019.

Marine Le Pen sent her wishes to the French in a video relayed on her social networks.

In a context marked according to her by the “war in Ukraine”, “unemployment”, and an “almost unprecedented energy crisis”, “poorly controlled inflation” and “almost endemic violence”, she calls on the French “to solidarity, fraternity and civil harmony”.

However, this situation “invites all the citizens that we are, not to fatalism […] but to mobilization”, according to Marine Le Pen. She sees in the score of the National Rally (RN) in the last legislative elections – punctuated by the arrival of 89 deputies at the Palais Bourbon – “the first sign of this start of which France has now urgently needed”.

The year 2023 “must not scare us”, urged the patron saint of RN deputies in the National Assembly. And to add, in a “message of hope”:

“Never is our country greater and braver than in the test”.

Looking ahead to future deadlines, the far-right elected official judges that “our country must now give itself leaders who are sensitive to the daily difficulties […] forward-looking in their vision and above all attached to the national interest”.

Marine Le Pen assures us: according to her, “this renewal to which everyone aspires and to which we are working will come”.

Emmanuel Macron wishes to place his year-end wishes under the sign of optimism. According to the entourage of the head of state, the latter would be keen to reassure the French with a message of “unity and confidence”.
