What is Radical by Eugenio Derbez about?

Radical is a film directed by Christopher Zalla and starring Eugenio Derbez. Both had worked together on ‘Sangre de mi Sangre’. The film tells the story of Sergio Juárez, a teacher in Matamoros, Tamaulipas -played by Eugenio Derbez- who must find a way to get closer to his students.

Between the violence and the negligence of the educational system, Sergio Juárez demonstrates that the school is the ideal place to test a new method to unlock the curiosity and potential of his students.

The film focuses on the real life story of Sergio Juárez Correa, the teacher who inspired the character of Derbez, who made headlines ten years ago for his teaching method. It was on January 19 that Radical held its first world championship and had six screenings at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.

It should be noted that Radical still does not have a release date in Mexico, but so far it has received good reviews from the Sundance Film Festival jury, so it is expected that it will soon be seen in the country.
