Red alert for floods in northern Italy. After 15 days of bad weather, the rivers begin to overflow. Nearly 900 people had to evacuate their homes and trains were suspended. “The situation is critical, we are facing absolutely extraordinary rainfall. The rivers have already burst their banks in some places”, deplores the mayor of Meldola, in Emilia-Romagna. Croatia and Bosnia are also victims of these heavy rains.
A British businessman in turmoil
In the United Kingdom, a businessman is in turmoil. After 19 months of investigation into money laundering cases, the BBC has just revealed the name of Javad Marandi, who is also a generous supporter of the Conservative Party, to whom he has given more than 800,000 euros. So far, the man has not been charged. But the case could once again tarnish the image of the Conservative Party.
