Recently things didn’t go well for Hertha BSC, not only on the pitch. The Berliners also had to accept defeats on the transfer market: desired players such as Gauthier Hein (26/AJ Auxerre), Maximilian Philipp (28/moved to Werder Bremen), Selim Amallah (26/Standard Liège, wants to Real Valladolid) and Jannik Vestergaard (30 / Leicester City) did not come to the federal capital.
And now the departure of the best player is threatened. The ‘Bild’ confirms reports from the Netherlands and Belgium that several clubs are interested in Dodi Lukebakio. The daily newspaper names FC Sevilla, PSV Eindhoven and indeed Paris St. Germain.
The French noble club had explored the 25-year-old. The interest is not particularly concrete, especially since PSG is actually planning to sign Hakim Ziyech (29) from Chelsea.

A move to Seville or Eindhoven seems more likely. According to ‘Bild’, the Dutch have already submitted a loan offer to Hertha: a fee in the low millions plus a purchase obligation of nine million euros. The Berliners are said to have refused. But it is quite possible that Eindhoven or another club will do it again.
By summer at the latest, a transfer will probably be hot. After all, Lukebakio’s contract expires in 2024. According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Olympique Lyon are already working on a transfer that would go through after the season. Whether the French have that much time remains to be seen.
