This Saturday, January 14, David Pujadas is the guest of Jade and Eric Dussart in We redo the TV on RTL. The former star presenter of the 8 p.m. newspaper that he presented from 2001 to 2017, confides without language of wood on his future on television, in an excerpt that Tele-Leisure reveals you exclusively.

“I consider myself first of all as a producer”

Currently in command of 24h Pujadas on LCI -channel to which he presented the newspapers from 1994 to 2001-, David Pujadas admits that he does not see himself “truly not” on the air in ten or fifteen years. “In fact, when I left France Télé, for me the antenna, it was over. It turns out that to launch my production company, my main asset was myself with Mathilde Pasinetti, my partner”, he justifies. And to add: “When we started our production company, our first contract was with LCI and LCI wanted me on the air. And then one thing led to another, I took a liking to it and here I am still there five or six years later . But today, I consider myself first of all as a producer“, he assures.

“When I left 8 p.m., I said: ‘in three years, I won’t be here anymore'”

At the microphone of RTL, David Pujadas assures that he no longer feels the imperative need to show himself in the image. “After a few years, when you were very exposed through the political broadcasts, the JT… your ego is well nourished. Me, I had probably this somewhat personal need for recognition and it has been satisfied.” If he has not yet reached retirement age, has the 58-year-old presenter already set a date for leaving the LCI antenna? “No, I didn’t.he points out. I had set a date when I left at 8 p.m. I had said: ‘In three years, I will no longer be here’. It’s ridiculous. It was presumptuous, because in fact we don’t know. All adventures can be possible.” As a reminder, in June 2017, David Pujadas presented his last 8 p.m. newspaper on France 2 after having spent sixteen years in this position. Which gave him a longevity record.
