The charts are again full of classics, new films and series this week: Robert de Niro made film history with Al Pacino in the film “Heat”, as did Jean Reno with “Léon – The Professional”, in which Natalie Portman made her film debut celebrated.
The highlight of the week, however, is the current film by Christian Bale. The Memorable Case of Mr. Poe only hit theaters on December 22nd and is already here Netflix at number 1 on the charts. A mysterious murder case in the USA in the 19th century is solved in a very slow narrative style.

BILD film tip: “The Memorable Case of Mr. Poe” – A cadet hanged himself at the famous West Point Military Academy. It appears to have been a tragic but not uncommon suicide at the Academy. But when it is discovered that the dead man’s heart has been cut out, the leadership of the military academy hires New York City investigator Augustus Landor (Christian Bale) to take on the case. In order to be able to better investigate the secretive cadets, he hires one of them to help solve the case. A young man who would later become famous as Edgar Allan Poe.
