Restricted zone : a 2-year-old girl suffering from developmental delays due to screens

That day, Anne-Lise Ducanda received Aya, aged 2 years and 4 months, with her mother and one of her sisters. Sent by her pediatrician concerned about her language level a few months before she started kindergarten, the little girl suffered from serious developmental delays. “Do you hear him gibbering? We don’t understand what she’s saying but she’s trying to speak?“, the doctor asks the child’s mother, who responds in the negative. Finally, in 45 minutes of the consultation, Aya will not utter a word or make a sound.. Worse still, when the doctor asks the little girl to give a toy to her own sister, she seems to have had trouble identifying it. According to Anne-Lise Ducanda, she presents all the symptoms of overexposure to screens. At the end of the consultation, she asks her mother to no longer use an electronic device in her presence.

Aya, 2 and a half years old, radically changes her behavior after stopping screens in Restricted zone on M6

Three and a half months after the last appointment with the doctor, Aya and her mother returned to the consultation room. Surprise, the little girl now speaks for herself! There was no sentence at all last time“, remembers Anne-Lise Ducanda. “It’s impressive. It’s great, it’s day and night. It’s because of the screen. It’s incredible. How can we imagine that it could do that? She needs to be in the interaction and the real world. You have to continue like this at least until 5-6 years. The TV, we turn it off when it’s there“, asks the doctor. According to the doctor, Aya caught up with her brain development delay in three and a half months.
