Just this past July 12, we were meeting this year’s Emmy nominees. But as we said, things got dense in the Hollywood scene… And everything indicates that the award ceremony will not take place on September 18 as planned.
This Thursday, July 27, Variety reported in an exclusive report that the 2023 Emmy Awards will be postponed. Although the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (coordinated by NATAS and IATAS) has not made the announcement official, there was already talk of a possible rescheduling of the event that Fox was going to officially televise in the United States.
As the aforementioned medium indicates, an Emmy ceremony had not been postponed since 2001. On that occasion, the award ceremony was scheduled to take place on September 16, but the date was changed due to the September 11 attacks in New York.
What will be the new date of the Emmy 2023?
As we mentioned, there is still no official announcement from the organizers about the 2023 Emmys being postponed. However, various media mention that the ceremony –corresponding to the current year’s edition– would take place in January 2024.
As mentioned by Variety, Fox would agree that it take place in January, especially since it would go directly into the awards season at the beginning of the year. However, the TV Academy sought to negotiate a transmission to take place in November. We will have to wait for an official announcement, but those are the options that sound at the moment.
