They found the blood of Fernando Báez Sosa on the clothes of Matías Benicelli, Máximo Thomsen and Ciro and Luciano Pertossi.

According to the report presented by César Guida, forensic geneticist from the Public Ministry, both Thomsen’s shoes and Benicelli’s shirt and other clothing worn by some of the rugby players had blood stains that matched the samples corresponding to the murdered young man.

The eighth day of the trial for the murder of Fernando Báez Sosa was the one that began yesterday, later, at 10:45. It was not expected that it would last like the previous ones, because little by little, several witnesses are being dismissed – with the agreement of all parties – due to being repetitive. Thus, the first thing that happened was the appearance of two experts who analyzed the clothes of the defendants and the victim. One of them identified a Ciro Pertossi jean and a Blas Cinalli diver with two pieces of evidence with blood.

Garments with blood: whose are they

César Guida, one of the DNA experts, specified where the victim’s genetic material was found. Thus, from his description it emerged that there were stains of the victim’s blood on four articles of clothing and three of the accused’s shoes. Whose were they? It was Fernando Burlando who gave the names and surnames to the owners of those clothes: Matías Benicelli, Ciro and Luciano Pertossi and Máximo Thomsen.

“To this day I don’t know who each item belongs to and who wore it,” Guida explained before beginning with the details of her exhibition. This is the expert responsible for the Forensic Genetic Area of the North Institute of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Sciences of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Why clarify that? It is that the methodology of the analysis that the professional did so requires it: the samples are numbered.

In turn, the expert witness confirmed that she received 50 sealed envelopes with clothing worn by the parties involved at the time of the event, which were later analyzed in the laboratory. Among all those clothes, the official highlighted a dark flowered, short-sleeved shirt, which belonged to Fernando, with a tear in the back and a possible blood stain that tested positive for blood.

The tracks on the left little finger of one of the defendants

Another of the experts, César Guida, reported that Fernando’s left little finger had traces of DNA compatible with Cinalli’s genetic profile. The informant also specified before the Oral Criminal Court 1 of Dolores, that about a dozen of the defendants’ clothes – fifty were withdrawn for an expert assessment – had blood stains corresponding to the victim’s profile, including the sneakers belonging to Máximo Thomsen and a shirt by Matías Benicelli.
