Explanation of the toll increase: "It was already planned since 2019"

Starting tomorrow, the toll for light vehicles in Ypacaraí will be 15,000 guaraníes. From the MOPC they argue that this increase was already planned since 2019.

The engineer Francisco Javier Recalde of the Ministry of Public Works, explained that, with the increase from G. 5,000 to G.15,000 as of August 1, the Ypacaraí toll will be equated to that of Nueva Londreswhere this amount has already begun to be collected, both under the APP law, awarded to the company Ruta del Este.

“This was foreseen in the original contract of 2019, that once the functional sections are finished, which are the original works contracted, the price of the tolls must be automatically adjusted,” Recalde commented, in an interview with Universo radio 970 AM- Middle Nation..

On this point, he indicated that the seven original sections are already finished and that the works that are currently being developed are additional to and independent of the original ones.

These following works, estimated, would culminate in November, but are outside the new rate.

The toll for category 1 (light vehicles) will be G. 15,000, category 2 (trucks, double-axle buses and tractors) G. 26,000, category 3 (light vehicles with trailers) G. 26,000, category 4 (buses and trucks with three axles) G. 44,000, category 5 (trucks with more than three axles) G. 54,000.
