The hottest year ever recorded in the world

MIAMI.- The National Weather Service issued a warning of maximum heat index values that will affect South Florida, where temperatures between 103 and 107 degrees Fahrenheit can be felt, from Friday to Sunday.

According to the agency’s notice, during the day this Friday, June 7, high temperatures will begin at 10:00 am and will remain all day until 6:00 pm in the metropolitan areas of Miami-Dade and in the interior County.

The heat index is a measure that indicates the thermal sensation we feel taking into account the existing relative humidity. For example, if the air temperature is 96 degrees Fahrenheit and the relative humidity is 65%, the heat or wind chill index is 121 degrees Fahrenheit.

Residents and visitors are urged to stay hydrated.

It is also recommended to avoid direct contact with the sun and carry out outdoor activities in the cooler hours of the morning or afternoon. Likewise, it is advisable not to consume caffeine or alcohol, as they can influence dehydration.

It is very important to never leave children in a parked car, even if the windows are ajar, nor pets.

Under the announced conditions, working outdoors or exercising will stress the human body within 20 minutes. Therefore, it is recommended to rest 40 minutes of each hour of outdoor work, indicates the National Meteorological Service.
