Known for his successful horror films in the 1980s, John Carpenter is a legendary director of the genre with films such as Halloween, The Thing or New York 1997. Carpenter is making headlines again today compared to a license of horror making the news: Dead Space.
A Dead Space movie on the way?
Between the recent release The Callisto Protocol and the return of Dead Space in a remake which will be released on January 27, science fiction and horror have not finished talking and attracting millions of fans whether in video games or movies.
It is during a interview with Variety that the Oscar-winning director John Carpenter, known for his mastery of horror, has disclosed more than interesting information concerning the possible preparation of a project to adapt Dead Space to the cinema. However, Carpenter would not be in charge of the project.
“I’m not going to do it. I think they already have another director involved. And they didn’t ask me to do it. So until asked, I wouldn’t. But there’s a new version of the Dead Space video game coming out in January, and I’ll be there. »
It is clear that the universe created by Glen Schofield in 2008 would have a very strong potential for adaptation in dark rooms. Nothing is certain at the moment, but John Carpenter’s statement suggests that a project is indeed in the works. Perhaps we will have the chance to know more in the coming days on the occasion of the release of the remake.
