On Sunday, first champion Ørnulf Høyer won the duel, in which he was sent out by large farmer Ingrid Vik Lysne (31), because she thought the entrepreneur was not good enough to cooperate.

Høyer won the ax throwing competition against Aslak Maurstad (30), who was among the most liked inside the farm. On the sidelines sat the other participants, including Christopher Mørch Husby (33), and shed tears.

– Were they sad tears or tears of joy?

– Well, what can you say. Both parts, Mørch Husby tells Good morning Norway, and elaborates:

– I like Ørnulf very much, but if he was the one who went home right then, it would probably have gone just fine too. He was very bossy.

Høyer laughs and agrees with the lessee colleague:

– If I had sat back and was going to cheer for someone, I would also have cheered for Aslak. He was so incredibly cozy and easy to fall in love with. I can see it, admits the 66-year-old.

Høyer understands that people found him difficult

There have been many tears inside the farm, which Mørch Husby explains as being carried away, even if it is “only” TV.

– It wasn’t the first time I cried in there and it won’t be the last either, the 33-year-old can reveal.

That the tears come after only a few weeks together on the farm is something Mørch Husby himself has reacted to as he has previously watched reality shows at home on the sofa.

– I have thought about it a lot myself. It becomes very strong when you are in that bubble. It’s real, we’re not playing it up, he assures.

Høyer also refers to “bubble”, which he eventually became part of:

– You have to be there to understand what it is. I’m not used to that bubble in the same way as some of the people who were there, because they were reality people in one way or another, says the 66-year-old.

This is perhaps one of the reasons why Høyer was perceived as difficult to work with:

– I agree with that myself, he admits after seeing himself on TV.

Mørch Husby explains the bubble by saying that much is reinforced on the farm, and that you then react more strongly than what you do otherwise:

– Everything gets a little bigger and you put in a lot of effort that you might not normally do. You take matches you might not take at home.

Both Mørch Husby and Høyer emphasize that they had good times and a good atmosphere too. Nevertheless, they promise more drama on the farm:

– We have more to offer, laughs Mørch Husby and asks Høyer if he is involved in any of that:

– I’m a target shooter, he laughs.

– I have not come across the husband, and I thought it was going to be plank riding. But there is a lot going on in there, reveals Mørch Husby.

The wife could not bear to see any more

There has been a lot of drama at the Farmen farm. Høyer has been accused of being difficult to work with, of not letting the women go enough and at the start he was accused of having used the word “pakkis”, which he denies:

– It was one of the worst things I have been involved in in my entire life. It was a complete disaster. I almost don’t feel like talking too much about it, says Høyer before he continues:

– My great-grandfather is Fridtjof Nansen, we have a moral passport inside us – he started the Norwegian Refugee Council. We don’t have that word in us.

The word, or phrase, Høyer was accused of having said, was “work like a pack ice” to Lina Adampour (36), who withdrew from the program.

– Also, there is no phrase called “work like a pack ice”. I couldn’t possibly have said that!

Accused participant of racist language – chose to withdraw

When it comes to gender and the distribution of work, he justifies it with commitment:

– It’s a bit about being in 1923 and I was very dedicated, he says and adds:

– When I was 14 years old, I resigned from the State Church, solely because I could not confirm that I believed in religion at the time, because it was unfair to women and homosexuals, says the founder.

Accusing the participant of being male chauvinistic

– When I have it as a moral compass, I also get to hear these things, it’s no fun.

Some of the drama has also become too much food for Høyer’s wife:

– My wife wanted to take a break for a short period, because she thought it was a lot. But I myself have told her that I am very happy that I have been involved and very proud of it in many ways. But I can learn to pick up some signals, he laughs.
